SPOLD's electronic publications are free of charge. They can be downloaded from this page.If you do not have the program to unpack the zip files, you can obtain it in an evaluation version from http://www.winzip.com/Weidema B P. (1999a). The SPOLD file format '99. Download now
The zipped file contains a number of Word 6.0-documents describing the 1999 version of the SPOLD electronic file format for exchanging data for life cycle inventories. The '99 format replaces the SPOLD '97 format (although the SPOLD Database Network still accepts files in SPOLD '97) and includes also improved explanations for many fields. The file SPOLD99.DOC (dated 2000-11-17) contains the SPOLD '99 file format for LCI data exchange, including explanations. ANNEX11B.DOC, ANNEX22.DOC, ANNEX33.DOC, and ANNEX44B.DOC are lists, which are referred to in the explanations. We recommend that you do NOT print out these annexes, as they are very large text files. They are also integrated in the SPOLD Data Exchange Software. For more information on the SPOLD Format, se our FAQ.Weidema B P. (1999b). Response to the CPM assessment of the SPOLD format.Download nowThe zipped article in pdf-format (requiring Adobe Acrobat) is SPOLD's response to the below assessment of the SPOLD '97 format by Erixon & Ågren, which is found to be "unnecessary definitive and to give a misleading impression of the SPOLD format". By providing here both the CPM assessment and our own response, we allow the readers to make their own judgement.Erixon M, Ågren S. (1998). An assessment of the SPOLD-format.
